Civil Ceremony

A choice of locations, such as hotels or other venues which have permission to perform civil ceremonies can be a venue for a Civil ceremony. The attendance of the mayor may be required for legal reasons. The civil ceremony only traditionally takes place in the town hall, or other similar municipal office, and is conducted by an authorized civil representative – usually the mayor.

The process for getting married in Greece and the needed legal steps that need to be taken can vary slightly between regions and islands. The documentation necessary varies according to the nationality of the bride and groom and the type of ceremony requested. Allow us to take care and assist you during this preparation process as experiences and communication with the local authority will be made directly by our assistance after your request has been sent to us. You will receive detailed information which documents are needed and you will be guided about how to obtain them. Also, after the wedding we will take care of the legal registration of the Marriage.

Three steps we will guide you with:

1. Reserve a date at least three (3) months in advance
2. Forward us your documents to the wedding planner if you wish to get a marriage license and have a legal ceremony in Greece
3. Finalize your preferences at least 30 days before arrival so we can insure your needs are met.
